Santa Fe is chockablock full of amazing artists. I've visited a number of their studios and thought it would be fun to blog my favorites...

STUDIO & HOUSE
You enter a lush, courtyard garden brimming with beautiful plantings and art, dominated by a large geometric mural sweeping along an adobe wall - a visual signpost of what awaits once you step into Beth's enchanting home.

CODY HOOPER
YOUNG , TALENTED & GOING PLACES
When I walked into CODY HOOPER'S studio it was neat as a pin. No splashes of paint on the floor. No canvases placed willy nilly against walls. And no easel anywhere in sight, just a long table set in the middle of the room to catch the light. "I guess I shouldn't have cleaned," quipped Cody with a slow smile, realizing that maybe I needed to see a bit of artistic clutter. Nope. All I needed to see was his work, which drew me in with its color, movement and passionate surfaces.

BOB & PJ CARDINALE - ARTISTIC DUO
STUDIOS & HOUSE
Roberto (Bob) and PJ Cardinale met 47 years ago in art school and it only took them a year to realize that they were smitten. So if my math is correct, these amazing artists have been happily married for 46 years.

When you step into his Santa FE studio/home every surface is 'encrusted' with sculpture - in varying stages of doneness.

NOCONA BURGESS
"There's something in all of my paintings that people respond to, just like music," explains Nocona, "an unspoken style, color, brushstrokes, and good design elements."

T. PROTHEROE
Photography & Text by C.Whitney-Ward
When you walk into Terry Protheroe's home you immediately feel his aesthetic. Pendelton blankets drape windows; fun carved and painted art pepper every surface; interesting objects are staged perfectly; and his furniture is vintage, bold and masculine. It's an interesting space that he's filled with the color and texture of the Southwest.

GAIL FACTOR
When Gail Factor paints she creates a symphonic poem - conjuring up images and experiences that have happened decades before. Her paintings may resemble landscapes, but to Factor, who started art classes at age five, the compositions that pour from her brush are"total fiction - not abstracted."

GEOFFREY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM
Geoffrey Gorman has a vibrant imagination and when he creates one of his evocative, primordial animal sculptures they seem to have time traveled from another dimension. Fashioned from sticks, old canvas, wire and found objects, these
amazing creatures look as if they just emerged from an ancient
forest hallucinated by Edward Gorey and Dr. Seuss.
