G O O D Q U E S T I O N...

Swashbuckler, cowboy samurai, swordsman,
highlander, pirate, gangster, showman and chameleon
when it comes to creating a character for a film
or modeling gig. But when I caught up with him for
a feature on CHASING he had added Photography
& Directing to his repertoire and when I
visited his studio - created in his home garage -
I was in for a colorful adventure.
WELCOME TO
BLACKJACKRABBIT STUDIO
When I arrived, Justin was beginning to set the stage for one
of his crazy/wonderful story ideas..
The Storyline... three intrepid Space Pirate Captains are
traveling from their home planet to plunder planet ARTOPOL Upon
landing their adventures begin. They find a secret treasure chest,
which leads to an encounter with a group of angry dolls, a kidnapping
follows, and then a dramatic rescue.

Justin hung white sheets to serve as backdrop for his amazing
experimental mix-light painting shadow-casting photography.
No fancy equipment for Justin Jackrabbit. Everything he uses
to create his dynamic portraits is strictly outside-the-box:
sheets for backdrops, reflectors made from a pizza box
lined with foil, LED bulbs that don't get hot, a ladder
to hold lights, simple cardboard props,
and a mobile phone to capture it all.
THE STAGE IS SET...
JUSTIN BEGINS TO LIGHT THE SET
NEXT, THE ACTORS, WHO ARE MASTERS AT ACTING,
IMPROV AND MODELING, LEARN THEIR MOVES.
"There is no script," says Justin, "I work with elite
pro-talent who live and breath character development
and have the tools to create them. I build a base story
specialized to showcase each actors talent and
natural personality. I work out each scene ahead
and walk the actors thru them before I work
my magic with lighting and shoot the scene."

But before they begin their pirating...
the Baroness threatens a doll who is harassing her
about her boots...
These dolls won't get my boots!
Undaunted, the small but might dolls kidnap her
demanding a ransom!
"We will release you if you give us your Treasure Chest, "
threatens the doll's leader - the red Dwarf.
