THINGS FINER - A SHOPPING GEM

If you've strolled through Santa Fe's historic La Fonda on the Plaza, then you have no doubt come upon THINGS FINER -  elegant lobby-level shops (there are two locations inside the hotel) that are brimming with wonderful, wonderful objet d'art, French perfumes, antique, estate and contemporary  jewelry, silver, fabulous Indian bags, and so much more...

Their trademark is a  huge themed window display that changes every few months showcasing an enticing array of objects from the shops. The day that I brought my camera, the space was filled with colorful handbags from India...

Elizabeth Pettus and her husband Robert have owned THINGS FINER for the past 25 years, and have gathered the unique and beautiful from all over the world. It's a visual delight to step into their inviting shops.

The second shop is across from La Fonda's La Plazuela Restaurant, just past the hotel concierge desk. When you see this painting...you're there...

And, when you step inside...

There are glass cases filled with gorgeous silver and art pieces.
