SANTA FE FIRST FRIDAY - ALL THIS IN JUST TWO HOURS!

LAST NIGHT I thought I'd mosey on downtown and take in a few FIRST FRIDAY moments  - a lecture on Cuban Art at the NEW MEXICO ART MUSEUM...then on to one of my favorite galleries MANITOU where I fell in love with artist Harry Greene's paintings. And who could resist the delightful Mariachi Band that was playing out on the gallery balcony? Then I stepped into LEGENDS GALLERY - a wonderful showcase of Native American art - and found paintings and simply beautiful couture fashions...and three winsome models who were delighted to pose for my camera. Here goes...a two-hour Santa Fe window. Imagine if you had a whole weekend?

The New Mexico Art Museum & glimpse of their art-filled portal. If this is on the "outside", just imagine what must be on the" inside"...

Manitou Galleries is amazing!

CLAFOUTIS - FRENCH BAKERY & RESTAURANT

Since CLAFOUTIS opened in Santa Fe three-and-a-half years ago,  I think I've been there a zillion times. It's the next best thing to being in Paris and there's no jet lag! And the luscious pastries and breads and cookies and crepes and lovely bowls of cappuccino and sandwiches and soups and quiches...are simply wonderful. And who could resist the charm of  co-owner Ann-Laurie Ligier greeting you with "Bonjour" and a huge smile as you walk through the door.
She works the front of the house while her amazing chef husband, Philippe, works the back of the house, arriving at 3am and whipping up pastry heaven while the rest of us are in the land of nod.

And then there's daughter Charlotte who also works in the restaurant and has that irresistible Ligier smile...

Now, don't drool...

And guess where I'll be this Saturday?

NATHALIE - SANTA FE'S FRENCH CONNECTION

When Nathalie opened her gorgeous store on Canyon Road fifteen years ago, she couldn't resist adding a bit of French elegance to her very Santa Fe store. That's because she lived in Paris for years and worked for French Vogue.

So in addition to her beautiful new and vintage western wear, custom cowboy boots, Native American jewelry, art and home furnishings, you'll find some very French "surprises" -  like the dreamy vintage Yves St. Laurent fur-trimmed coat
hanging just inside the front door...

"I used to dress models for fashion shoots; now I do it for "real" people," says Nathalie, who loves to wear couture and cowboy boots; and her signature jewlery. "Style is in your head. If you want it, you can have it!"

Here's a peak at what you'll find...
