Walking into PASSEMENTRIE is like stepping into Aladdin's Cave - a place full of exciting and unexpected things. And what gorgeous 'things' there are in this beguiling shop, tucked just below
street level along Old Santa Fe Trail at La Fonda Hotel.
Owner, Christina Alarcon has been travelling to India for more than 15 years working with family-owned workshops and hand block printing artisans to create her private label designs for PASSEMENTRIE. "We are inspired by master craftsmanship and dedicated to seeking out, working with and helping sustain highly skilled artisans around the world," explains Christina, who is in the throes of planning a trip to India to work on her latest wood block print collection. In addition to this private collection, Passementrie showcases fabulous textile finds - shawls, bags, clothing, sweaters, accessories - from Ecuador, Peru and Thailand.
