The Teahouse - at the 'top' of Canyon Rd. - is one of my favorite haunts. And even though they boast more than 200 kinds of exotic teas with names like - White Monkey, Oriental Beauty and Jasmine Phoenix Pearls- there is a whole lot more of deliciousness served here 7-days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The success of this eclectic eatery is due in part to the hands-on management of RICH FREEMAN who along with partners Sandra and Jake Mendel purchased the Teahouse in 2012, did an interiors makeover and turned this delightful destination into a full service restaurant.
"We wanted this to be a neighborhood place to come and enjoy good food, " explains Rich, who spent 5 months in Italy prior to taking over The Teahouse, immersing himself in Mediterranean culture and cuisine -including a stint at culinary school. The fabulous panini and other Italian delights on the menu attest to his success.
Rich (above) in his usual perch just as you enter the first of three comfortable dining rooms. Essentially this is his office where he manages the day to day operations, greets arriving guests, and as they are leaving, makes sure they've had a great experience.
The decor is understated ethnic and comfortable; the three 'inside' rooms, bright and welcoming.
Everyone vies for this booth!

How lovely when Spring finally arrives and you can sit in this calming oasis at the top of Canyon Road (corner of Palace & Canyon). The perfect morning spot for sipping a lovely cup of tea (there are 150 different varieties to choose from - traditional to exotic), drinking a French press coffee, or a glass of lavender lemonade.
And folks travel great distances to sample the MACHA concoctions!
Do try the sweet ginger Macha Latte...
BREAKFAST!
Their home-baked Scone, Clotted Cream and Lemon Curd is my absolute favorite bite at The Teahouse. I will share if coerced!
But just about anything you order for breakfast, lunch and dinner is going to be swell. And the food is fresh, beautifully-prepared and presented.
Their slow roast of the day is always a good choice!
The waitstaff are friendly and fun.
And whatever you do...DO ORDER THE STACKED HOME-MADE SCONE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE WITH A DOLLOP OF RASPBERRY COULIS!
