ANDIAMO! - DELIZIOSO!

Photos by C. Whitney-Ward

Adiamo! is a neighborhood Italian-inspired trattoria, and since I live in the "neighborhood", I dropped by the other night with a friend.

We began with their Signature Baked Polenta with Gorgonzola & Rosemary.

And I did ask permission before I licked the plate clean. It was that wonderful.

Then came the House-Made Basil Pesto Ravioli in Tomato Basil Sauce.

I did share with my friend, but only a forkful. I'd order it again in a heart beat.

And, the Pork Scallopini with Red Kale and Mashed Potatoes
 was pure Italian comfort food.

Jinja Bar & Bistro - Menu Art

Jinja Bar & Bistro is one of my favorite Santa Fe restaurants. But, I haven't been there recently, so when I walked through the door and saw these
colorful chalk  menus, I knew that something was up...and grabbed my camera.

This chic Pan Asian restaurant got a bit of a re-do, adding an additional room  & booths and new design elements. The bar is inviting as always...

And who would mind waiting for a table here...

But the food and the crisp & friendly service is what keeps bringing me back. Today's quick lunch with a friend was a delight.

Lettuce Wraps, Tempura Shrimp & Vietnamese Spring Rolls

And, an amazing warm Chocolate Silk Cake with Caramel Sauce.

Johnnie's Market - The Real Deal

Photos by C. Whitney-Ward

Johnnie’s Market, just off Acequia Madre, is Santa Fe's oldest neighborhood grocery store and a walk back in time. If you haven't dropped in to buy a gallon of milk or say hello to owner Johnnie Armijo,  you're missing a piece of Santa Fe history. Johnnie built and  opened the  market (with his Father) in 1946 when he was 16-years old, and he's still running it 65 years later.  I stopped by to get Tamales and came away with a few stories and a crush on Johnnie.

I asked him about all  the trophies he's got displayed around the store and he said they belong to his grand and great grand kids - he's got thirty-five of them, and obviously proud as punch of every one.

And his shelves are well stocked with the essentials.

There's memorabilia on every wall.

Bits of old Santa Fe charm.

There's ice.

Swell tamales. And a picnic table outside.

And best of all, you get to meet Johnnie.

Stop by and say hey. Bring the kids, it's the REAL DEAL!

Terra @ Encantado Resort - An Elegant Breakfast

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals and I love it when someone else is doing the cooking. So last Sunday some friends and I headed over to TERRA at the lovely Encantado Resort and Executive Chef Charles Dale was in his kitchen.
 The  breakfast was memorable.

Brioche French Toast with Cherry Compote (which was amazing)

Even the basket of muffins and croissants was wonderful...and great coffee...
